Description
Precihole NX200 Athena Ultimate .177 Air Rifle: The Precihole NX200 Athena Ultimate is a .177 calibre break-barrel air rifle developed for shooters who want a more refined trigger system and the consistency of a nitro-piston power plant. It sits at the higher end of the NX200 series, combining a rifled steel barrel, adjustable sights and a two-stage multi-lever trigger in a practical polymer-stock design.
What sets the Athena Ultimate apart from the standard NX200 Athena is its Xacta multi-lever adjustable trigger. Precihole describes this as a precision-adjustable, two-stage trigger designed to give the shooter greater control over trigger operation. The safety is positioned for thumb operation, keeping the control conveniently accessible while handling the rifle.
The rifle uses a Nitro Piston power plant rather than a conventional spring system. It operates through a break-barrel action and features a 450mm rifled steel barrel. Precihole lists a maximum velocity of 262 m/s (860 fps) and power of up to 20 Joules / 15 ft-lb. Actual performance can vary depending on pellet selection and shooting conditions.
With a total length of 1095mm and a weight of approximately 3.1kg, the NX200 Athena Ultimate has a substantial full-size rifle profile. The polymer stock keeps the overall platform practical, while the 11mm dovetail mounting rail provides compatibility with suitable optical accessories.
For shooters looking for a Precihole .177 air rifle with a nitro-piston system, rifled barrel and adjustable two-stage trigger, the NX200 Athena Ultimate offers a well-equipped platform for plinking, recreational shooting and open-field target practice.

Key Features of the NX200 Athena Ultimate
Xacta Multi-Lever Adjustable Trigger
The defining feature of the Athena Ultimate is its Xacta multi-lever adjustable trigger. The two-stage trigger is designed to provide a more controlled trigger feel, with multiple adjustment points allowing the shooter to fine-tune trigger characteristics to their preference.
Nitro Piston Power Plant
Instead of relying on a traditional coiled spring, the NX200 Athena Ultimate uses a Nitro Piston power plant. This provides the rifle with its characteristic break-barrel operating system while offering an alternative to conventional spring-powered air rifles.
.177 Calibre Rifled Barrel
The rifle comes with a 4.5mm / .177 calibre rifled steel barrel measuring 450mm. Rifling is designed to impart rotation to compatible pellets as they travel through the barrel, making it suitable for controlled target shooting.
Up to 20 Joules of Power
Precihole rates the Athena Ultimate at up to 20 Joules / 15 ft-lb, with a listed maximum velocity of 262 m/s or 860 fps. These are maximum manufacturer specifications rather than a guarantee of the velocity or energy obtained with every pellet.
Adjustable Rear Sight
The rear sight can be adjusted for windage and elevation, allowing the shooter to make sight corrections during target practice. The front sight uses a post configuration.
11mm Dovetail Scope Rail
For shooters who prefer an optical sight, the rifle features a 3/8-inch (11mm) dovetail mounting rail and is listed as scopable by Precihole. Any scope or mount should be selected for compatibility with the rifle and intended shooting application.
Thumb-Operated Automatic Safety
The Athena Ultimate incorporates an auto-thumb-operated safety, positioned to make the safety control readily accessible while handling the rifle.
Full-Size Polymer Stock
The rifle uses a polymer stock and measures 1095mm overall, giving it the dimensions of a full-size air rifle while keeping the construction practical for regular shooting sessions.
Why Consider the Precihole NX200 Athena Ultimate?
The Athena Ultimate is aimed at shooters who want more than a basic break-barrel air rifle. Its combination of a Nitro Piston power plant, rifled barrel, adjustable rear sight and Xacta multi-lever trigger gives the rifle a more feature-focused configuration.
It can be considered for:
- Recreational plinking
- Target practice
- Open-field target shooting where permitted
- Shooters interested in an adjustable two-stage trigger
- Airgun enthusiasts looking for a .177 calibre Precihole rifle
The absence of a magazine means the rifle follows a traditional single-shot break-barrel format. For many recreational shooters, this keeps the loading and shooting process straightforward.
